Cleaning & Turnovers
Consistent changeovers between guests, whether you clean yourself or brief a team.
Use the same order every time
Working room by room in a fixed sequence (strip beds, kitchen, bathrooms, restock, floors last) reduces missed tasks and makes timing predictable.
Record issues as you go
Note damage, low stock and maintenance needs during each turnover, with photos and the date. This gives you evidence if you need to raise a claim and a clear list for restocking.
Brief cleaners in writing
A written standard with photos of how each room should look helps new cleaners reach the same result and gives you something objective to review against.
Time each turnover
Record start and finish times for the first few changeovers. Knowing a realistic turnover length helps you set check-in and checkout times, agree fair pay with cleaners and decide whether same-day turnovers are achievable for your property.
Keep a par level for consumables
Decide a minimum stock level for toilet roll, bin bags, dishwasher tablets, tea and coffee, and check it on every clean. A short restock list left by the cleaner avoids running out during a stay.
